  • 2/3 cup wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

How To Make sweet and sour red cabbage

  • Step 1
    Saute the onion in melted butter in a Dutch oven until tender.

    Add the red cabbage and remaining ingredients, stirring well to combine.
  • Step 3
    Bring mixture to a boil; cover and reduce heat. Simmer for 45 minutes or until the cabbage is tender; stirring occasionally.
