I don't usually use recipes, so I use this as my basic recipe and tweak it to suit my taste for where I am using it or taking it. It is easy to adjust to your taste.

Ingredients

Add to Grocery List

2 can(s)
van camps pork and beans
1/2 c
catsup{ or more to taste}
1 Tbsp
yellow mustard
2 tsp
molassas or maple syrup
1 medium
onion chopped fine
1 small
bell pepper chopped
1/4 c
brown sugar
1/4 tsp
garlic powder
3 Tbsp
cooked bacon bits for garnish

How to Make Sue's Baked Beans

Step-by-Step

  • 1Mix the beans and seasonings together and stir well to blend
  • 2Fold in chopped onion and chopped bell pepper. Let set for a few minutes to absorb flavors.
  • 3Spray a 9x13 glass baking dish(I prefer glass) with cooking spray, bottom and sides. Pour bean mixture in dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle bacon bits evenly over beans.
  • 4Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour or until bubbly all over, but still juicy. The liquid will set as the beans cool. Enjoy!
