I don't usually use recipes, so I use this as my basic recipe and tweak it to suit my taste for where I am using it or taking it. It is easy to adjust to your taste.

prep time 1 Hr
cook time 1 Hr
method Bake
yield 8-10 people

Ingredients

  • 2 cans van camps pork and beans
  • 1/2 cup catsup{ or more to taste}
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 2 teaspoons molassas or maple syrup
  • 1 medium onion chopped fine
  • 1 small bell pepper chopped
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3 tablespoons cooked bacon bits for garnish

How To Make sue's baked beans

  • Step 1
Mix the beans and seasonings together and stir well to blend
  • Step 2
Fold in chopped onion and chopped bell pepper. Let set for a few minutes to absorb flavors.
  • Step 3
Spray a 9x13 glass baking dish(I prefer glass) with cooking spray, bottom and sides. Pour bean mixture in dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle bacon bits evenly over beans.
  • Step 4
Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour or until bubbly all over, but still juicy. The liquid will set as the beans cool. Enjoy!
