Ingredients
- 2 pounds fresh asparagus trimmed
- 1 stick butter
- 1 medium shallot minced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 3 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
- juice and zest of 1 lemon
- 1 cup sliced almonds
- salt and pepper
How To Make steamed asparagus with buttered almonds

Step 1Add 2 tbsp of the butter to a skillet. Add the shallots and garlic and cook about 5 minutes. Add the remaining butter, parsley, lemon juice and zest and stir. Add the almonds and let the butter and almonds brown.

Step 2While cooking almonds let the asparagus steam until crisp tender. Add the asparagus to the almond butter mixture. Taste and season with salt and pepper.

Step 3Serve immediately
