My sister gave me this recipe back in 1978 and it has always been a favorite of mine.

  • 2 lb
    yellow squash (cooked & drained)
  • 2 large
    eggs (beat until frothy)
  • 1 small
    can green chilies (chopped)
  • 1 medium
    onion (chopped fine)
  • 1 small
    jar cheese whiz
  • 1 can(s)
    cream of celery soup
  • ·
    buttered bread crumbs

How to Make Squash Casserole


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Butter a 9 x 13 dish.
  2. Spread cheese whiz on bottom of buttered 9 x 13 dish.
  3. Spread cooked & drained squash over cheese.
  4. Beat eggs until frothy, add chopped onion & green chilies. Spread on top of squash.
  5. Top with Cream of Celery soup (undiluted).
  6. Can also add buttered bread crumbs after it cooks for a while so they don't burn.
  7. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes in 375 oven.
