My sister gave me this recipe back in 1978 and it has always been a favorite of mine.

2 lb
yellow squash (cooked & drained)
2 large
eggs (beat until frothy)
1 small
can green chilies (chopped)
1 medium
onion (chopped fine)
1 small
jar cheese whiz
1 can(s)
cream of celery soup
buttered bread crumbs

How to Make Squash Casserole


  • 1Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Butter a 9 x 13 dish.
  • 2Spread cheese whiz on bottom of buttered 9 x 13 dish.
  • 3Spread cooked & drained squash over cheese.
  • 4Beat eggs until frothy, add chopped onion & green chilies. Spread on top of squash.
  • 5Top with Cream of Celery soup (undiluted).
  • 6Can also add buttered bread crumbs after it cooks for a while so they don't burn.
  • 7Bake for 35 to 40 minutes in 375 oven.
