spicy brussels sprouts

I love spicy food but living in Phoenix, Arizona it's hard to find spicy without burning your mouth off. I found this recipe in a YouTube video and adapted it to my liking. Serve hot or cold. Once they cool there is very little sauce left. I haven't reheated so not sure what happens then, I LOVE them cold! ENJOY!

Ingredients

  • 4-6 slices bacon, cut up (scissors work great)
  • 6-8 - raw almonds, chopped (optional)
  • 1 1/2-2 pounds brussels sprouts, halved
  • SAUCE INGREDIENTS
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon each red pepper flakes and cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce or coconut aminos
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha or frank's red hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

How To Make spicy brussels sprouts

  • Step 1
    Cook bacon and almonds in saucepan until bacon is done.
  • Step 2
    Add Sprouts and stir to coat with bacon grease.
  • Step 3
    Mix together dry and wet ingredients in separate bowls.
  • Step 4
    Add dry ingredients over Sprouts and stir to coat then add wet ingredients and stir until well combined.
  • Step 5
    Simmer until Sprouts are cooked to your liking, stirring occasionally.
