speedy steamed broccoli
Our favorite fast food restaurant serves steamed broccoli as a choice instead of fries. However, there is nothing on them. If you eat in, you can order a side of melted cheese for the broccoli. During the pandemic, we would pick up our food in the drive thru and take it home. I started to doctor up my broccoli as follows. It's fewer calories than adding cheese and it's super easy to make at home.

Ingredients
- 1 pound broccoli tops
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
How To Make speedy steamed broccoli

Step 1Break tops apart into florets. Use how ever much of the stem that you like, cut into slices.

Step 2Steam until bright green and al dente.

Step 3In serving bowl, sprinkle with sesame oil and garlic salt and gently mix. Or let each person dress their own portion with both oil and salt.

Step 4For those with a fondness for a bit of heat, add a sprinkle of Slap Yo Mama seasoning or red pepper flakes.
