Ingredients

  • - 1 pound mushrooms, sliced
  • - 3 tablespoons butter
  • - one clove garlic, crushed
  • - 2 teaspoons dill weed
  • - salt, pepper
  • - 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • - 1 cup sour cream

How To Make sour cream mushrooms on toast

  • Step 1
    sauté mushrooms in butter and add garlic, dill, salt and pepper, and lemon juice. Cook about 20 minutes or till just tender. Pour a small amount of mushroom liquid into the sour cream. Then add to the mushrooms and mix. Refrigerate about eight hours. Heat and serve over toast or English muffins
  • Step 2
    Variation: cook mushrooms in butter. Add flour to thicken. Then add equal parts of broth and cream. Cook, stirring constantly till thickened. It should be like a thin paste. Variation: put the creamed mushrooms recipe in a baking dish. Cover with grated cheese. Bake till cheese is melted. Serve hot.
