sesame mushrooms, green beans and jicama

Texas has some great mushroom farms at the market and green beans and jicama are already out from the local farms. I love anything with a little hint of Asian....these were tasty enough to enjoy by themselves ...

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound fresh button mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 3/4 pound fresh green beans, ends trimmed off
  • 3/4 cup jicama, peeled and sicedinto thin bite-sized pieces
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons sesame seeds

How To Make sesame mushrooms, green beans and jicama

  • Step 1
    Preheat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the mushrooms to the HOT pan and let them sit for 2 minutes before flipping them to brown on the other side for 2 minutes
  • Step 2
    Add the green beans and jicama; season with a pinch of salt and pepper
  • Step 3
    Combine the water, soy sauce, honey, salt and pepper, to taste; mix well. Pour the sauce into the pan and cook the green bean mixture for 3-4 minutes, or until the green beans are tender-crisp. Remove from the heat and stir in half the sesame seeds.
  • Step 4
    Place on serving dish and sprinkle with remaining sesame seeds.
