Texas has some great mushroom farms at the market and green beans and jicama are already out from the local farms. I love anything with a little hint of Asian....these were tasty enough to enjoy by themselves ...

1/2 lb
fresh button mushrooms, sliced
4 tsp
sesame oil
3/4 lb
fresh green beans, ends trimmed off
3/4 c
jicama, peeled and sicedinto thin bite-sized pieces
2 clove
garlic, minced
1 Tbsp
1 Tbsp
soy sauce
1 Tbsp
1/2 tsp
kosher salt
1/8 tsp
black pepper
3 Tbsp
sesame seeds

How to Make Sesame Mushrooms, Green Beans and Jicama


  • 1Preheat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the mushrooms to the HOT pan and let them sit for 2 minutes before flipping them to brown on the other side for 2 minutes
  • 2Add the green beans and jicama; season with a pinch of salt and pepper
  • 3Combine the water, soy sauce, honey, salt and pepper, to taste; mix well. Pour the sauce into the pan and cook the green bean mixture for 3-4 minutes, or until the green beans are tender-crisp. Remove from the heat and stir in half the sesame seeds.
  • 4Place on serving dish and sprinkle with remaining sesame seeds.
