I like to make these with fresh as well as frozen green beans. I'll have plenty of fresh in a couple of months since they're going in the garden.

prep time 20 Min
cook time 10 Min
method ---
yield depends on what other sides you may have with a dinner

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh green beans cleaned and snapped into 2 inch pieces
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small onion sliced thin
  • 1 large clove garlic
  • 1/4 cup white cooking wine or regular wine (use less salt when using the cooking wine)
  • - salt/pepper to taste

How To Make seasoned green beans

  • Step 1
Once green beans are cleaned and snapped, blanch them in boiling water for about 30 seconds. Remove and put directly into ice water, then drain.
  • Step 2
Melt 3 T. butter in pan and add onion and garlic (pressed through a garlic press). Cook until transluscent. Add green beans and wine as well as salt and pepper. Add the last of the butter and cook until liquid reduces (usually a few minutes or so). Serve and enjoy.
