Ingredients
- 1 bunch herbs such as parsley, cilantro, chives, sage, etc.
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil (or as needed)
How To Make saving herbs
-
Step 1Chop herbs as you normally would for use. Place in a bowl. Add extra-virgin olive oil. Just enough to coat. Stir.
-
Step 2Using a small flat dish (cake pan, pie, or similar, and line with plastic wrap. Place herbs in pan and spread to about 1/4 around the pan.
-
Step 3Place in freezer and leave until frozen. Bring the surrounding plastic wrap around to cover and place into a plastic freezer bag.
-
Step 4Break off pieces as needed in recipes. The herbs will "melt" out in a few seconds. Great for parsley and cilantro, but can be used for anything.
