I am from New Orleans, now living about 40 miles north of New Orleans. Makes no differens where you live now, you are always N'Awlins. On New Years Day it is tradition that we eat black-eye peas and cabbage. Black-eye peas for luck and cabbage for money. This is my cabbage recipe. It is so easy, and this is the only way a few of my family will eat cabbage. I double the recipe.
