sauerkraut and tomato casserole

You have to try this recipe because it is unbelieveable. I had it at a covered dish supper and fell in love with the sweet/sour taste of it. I have made it several times in the summer for barbecues and it is always well received.

Ingredients

  • 1 jar sauerkraut, rinsed and drained well
  • 1 - large can of chopped tomatoes with the juice (i use muir glen)
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion, sauteed
  • 1/4 cup chopped celery, sauteed with the onion in butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar

How To Make sauerkraut and tomato casserole

  • Step 1
    After you saute the onion and celery, mix the remaining ingredients in a casserole dish and bake at 350 for 45 to 50 mins until most of the moisture has evaporated.
