Is there a bacon lover in your family? Are you tired of plain sauerkraut? This recipe is a great change of pace! Serve as a side or a topping for hotdogs or brats. Great with a spicy, brown mustard.

How to Make Rosemary Bacon Kraut

Step-by-Step

  • 1Place sauerkraut in a colander to drain.
  • 2Mince rosemary making sure to remove any bits of woody stem.
  • 3Cut bacon into 1/2" pieces. I like to use kitchen shears.
  • 4In a large sauce pan over medium heat, saute bacon in oil until medium crispy, about 8-10 minutes, stirring frequently. Add rosemary and cook stirring constantly for 30 seconds.
  • 5Add sauerkraut and stir to combine. Reduce heat to low and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • 6Remove to a serving bowl. Serve warm or refrigerate and serve cold. My family loves it with this mustard:
