I found this recipe on a package of shredded red cabbage. I use this recipe quite off as my go-to side dish. It complements any entree and goes to gather very fast.

Ingredients
- 8 ounces shredded red cabbage
- 2 cups cubed apple, unpeeled
- 2 tablespoons bacon drippings
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon caraway seed
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
- dash pepper
How To Make red cabbage

Step 1Heat bacon drippings in a skillet. Stir in brown sugar, vinegar, caraway seed, water, salt and pepper.

Step 2Add shredded cabbage and apple. Stir until coated.

Step 3Cover and cook 15 minutes for crisp cabbage, or 25 minutes for tender cabbage.
