quick french green beans with bacon
Such a quick side dish that can be made in minutes. Sometimes depending what I'm serving as an entree, I've added a sprinkle of crushed red pepper for a little more kick.

Ingredients
- 5 slices bacon, diced
- 1 onion, sliced or diced
- 32 ounces french style green beans, drained (frozen or canned)
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, or to taste (i use more)
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder, or to taste
- 1 cup water or chicken broth, optional (see note in step 2).
How To Make quick french green beans with bacon

Step 1Fry bacon in heavy large skillet until almost crispy. Add onions and fry until golden brown or tender.

Step 2Add green beans. If canned, do not drain; if frozen, add 1 cup water or chicken broth.

Step 3Add seasonings.

Step 4Cover and cook on medium heat until most of liquid cooks away.
