Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 small red onion, sliced
- 1 - tart apple, thinly sliced
- 10 ounces finely shredded red cabbage
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons kosher salt
- 1 1/2 cups apple cider
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
How To Make quick apple & red sauerkraut

Step 1Heat oil in a cast iron skillet over medium heat.

Step 2Add onion & apple and cook stirring constantly,until it begins to brown,about 1-2 mins.

Step 3Add cabbage,vinegar & salt.

Step 4Cook,stirring frequently,for 2 mins.,or until cabbage has wilted.

Step 5Add the cider and caraway seeds & bring to a boil.

Step 6Lower the heat & simmer the kraut for about 10 mins., until the cabbage is tender and a few tbsp. of the juice remain.
