I heart prime rib. I created a new side dish for the prime rib. It's based on Kinder prime rib seasoning on green bean casserole.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup crumbled cooked bacon
  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons prime rib seasoning, divided
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cans cut green beans, drained
  • 1 medium carrot, chopped
  • 1 packet dry onion soup mix
  • 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup crushed salad croutons
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 3/4 cup half and half
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 8 ounces Gouda cheese, shredded

How To Make prime green bean casserole

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Step 2
    Coat the bottom and sides of a 3-quart baking dish with cooking spray. Add 1 cup crumbled bacon and shredded Parmesan cheese. Season with 1 tablespoon prime rib seasoning; mix well.
  • Step 3
    Heat olive oil in a large, deep skillet over medium heat. Add green beans and chopped carrots. Saute for 6 minutes or until tender.
  • Step 4
    Stir in 1 tablespoon prime rib seasoning, dry onion soup mix, ground black pepper, and garlic powder. Remove from heat.
  • Step 5
    Spoon into a prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Add crushed salad croutons.
  • Step 6
    Heat margarine and 1/2 tablespoon prime rib seasoning in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  • Step 7
    Combine heavy cream, buttermilk, half and half, cream cheese, and the remaining prime rib seasoning. Stir well and bring it to a boil for 5 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat.
  • Step 8
    Pour over the green bean mixture and mix well. Sprinkle with shredded Gouda cheese.
  • Step 9
    Bake for 23 minutes or until cheese is melted.
