Cut the cabbage like you would to boil it. Then after cutting it cut it again. Get out a black iron pot. For those who are asking that is a Louisiana cooking ware. Fry some bacon in the black iron pot. Keep the bacon and the bacon grease. When you are done cooking the bacon to a crisp put it on the side. Put the cabbage it the pot and have your fire on med heat and began to fry the cabbage. It will turn brown. Season you cabbage with what seasons you like. We do ours with Tony's, red pepper, garlic powder, chili powder, salt and pepper. Cover for a while let it cook. About 45 mins. before you serve it un cover it and let it start fring again. It will stick to the bottom of the black iron pot but that IS WHAT YOU WANT IT TO DO. When that happens add some butter to the cabbage one whole stick and the becon cook down add a little water if needed but should be a ready to eat. Don't forget you want the cabbage to fry and turn brown. Onions are your prefference.
