How to Make Pinto Beans

Step-by-Step

  1. The night before you want to cook these beans, wash beans and put in bowl. Add enough water to cover the beans. Cover with saran wrap and let soak overnight.
  2. The next morning rinse you beans. Put in a dutch oven over med heat. Add enough water to fill the dutch oven 3/4 full. Cook over medium heat until beans are very tender. While beans are cooking brown your hamburger meat in a skillet , drain and then set aside.
  3. Then add one jar of picante sauce. I use a homemade sauce that I buy locally but Pace or other brands work great. Add your browned hamburger meat, link sausage diced and salt. Cook another 1- 1 1/2 until done. Serve with cornbread.
