Ingredients

  • 1 pound dried pinto beans
  • 1 pound link sausage
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 jar picante sauce
  • 2-3 teaspoons salt

How To Make pinto beans

  • Step 1
The night before you want to cook these beans, wash beans and put in bowl. Add enough water to cover the beans. Cover with saran wrap and let soak overnight.
  • Step 2
The next morning rinse you beans. Put in a dutch oven over med heat. Add enough water to fill the dutch oven 3/4 full. Cook over medium heat until beans are very tender. While beans are cooking brown your hamburger meat in a skillet , drain and then set aside.
  • Step 3
Then add one jar of picante sauce. I use a homemade sauce that I buy locally but Pace or other brands work great. Add your browned hamburger meat, link sausage diced and salt. Cook another 1- 1 1/2 until done. Serve with cornbread.
