came up with this recipe when I was a new homemaker and my family and loved ones expect it at cookouts and picnics. It is always a hit.

Ingredients

  • 5
    regular cans pork and beans, drained
  • 1
    medium sized chopped onion
  • 1 can(s)
    drained pineapple tidbits
  • 8 oz
    cubed ham
  • 1 c
    ketchup
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar
  • 2 tsp
    each salt and pepper

How to Make Picnic Baked Beans

Step-by-Step

  1. combine all and pour into a prepared 13x9 casserole dish ( usually I buy a throw away aluminum pan with lid ) to save clean up later
  2. bake 1 hour covered with foil in a 350 degree oven
  3. remove foil and bake another 10 minutes. remove from oven, let set up before serving. (it will thicken up)
