Grandma made this salad with fresh or frozen home grown peas. It was one of her basic foods; those things she kept her frig stocked with. Since she got surplus cheese back in the old days this was a nutritious and economical dish.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup miracle whip
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 package (10 ounces) frozen peas, thawed but not cooked
- 4 ounces cubed or shredded cheese, american, colby, or cheddar
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- - salt and pepper to taste
- 2-4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled, optional
How To Make pea salad

Step 1Mix Miracle Whip and milk. Set aside. In serveing bowl combine all other ingredients. Stir to mix. Toss with thinned Miracle Whip. Serve as a side dish.
