Pea Salad

Grandma made this salad with fresh or frozen home grown peas. It was one of her basic foods; those things she kept her frig stocked with. Since she got surplus cheese back in the old days this was a nutritious and economical dish.

  • 1/2 c
    miracle whip
  • 2 Tbsp
  • 1 pkg
    (10 ounces) frozen peas, thawed but not cooked
  • 4 oz
    cubed or shredded cheese, american, colby, or cheddar
  • 1/2 c
    chopped celery
  • 1/4 c
    chopped onion
  • ·
    salt and pepper to taste
  • 2-4 slice
    bacon, cooked and crumbled, optional

How to Make Pea Salad


  1. Mix Miracle Whip and milk. Set aside. In serveing bowl combine all other ingredients. Stir to mix. Toss with thinned Miracle Whip. Serve as a side dish.
