This is another recipe that I try to make taste like my Mama's. These are good, but they do not come close to hers.

yellow squash
1
yellow onion, chopped
1/2 c
bacon drippings
1 tsp
salt
1 tsp
black pepper
1 Tbsp
flour

How to Make Pan Fried Squash

Step-by-Step

  • 1Wash squash and slice.
  • 2Place in a large saucepan, cover with water and boil until squash is tender. Drain well.
  • 3Saute onion in bacon drippings in a large skillet.
  • 4Combine drained squash and flour, salt, and black pepper. Add to the sauteed onion.
  • 5Cook over medium high heat, stirring constantly with a spatula, until squash begin to brown. Add more salt and pepper if desired. Serve hot.
