This is another recipe that I try to make taste like my Mama's. These are good, but they do not come close to hers.

Ingredients

  • 6 - yellow squash
  • 1 - yellow onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup bacon drippings
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon flour

How To Make pan fried squash

  • Step 1
    Wash squash and slice.
  • Step 2
    Place in a large saucepan, cover with water and boil until squash is tender. Drain well.
  • Step 3
    Saute onion in bacon drippings in a large skillet.
  • Step 4
    Combine drained squash and flour, salt, and black pepper. Add to the sauteed onion.
  • Step 5
    Cook over medium high heat, stirring constantly with a spatula, until squash begin to brown. Add more salt and pepper if desired. Serve hot.
