How to Make Old Fashioned Dill Pickles with a new Twist
- Boil the water and canning salt then let it sit until it cold.
Slice the cucumbers on a mandolin.
Get out 6 quart jars and sanitize them.
Place some dill in the bottom of each jar.
Place 1 tbsp. pickling spice and 2 whole cloves of garlic in each jar. Pack each jar with the cucumbers. Top each jar with 1 tbsp pickled ginger.
- Ladle the brine in each jar leaving a half inch air space on the top of each jar. Seal the jars and place in a boiling water bath and turn the heat off and let jars sit for at least 15 minute.
- Leave sit for at least 4 weeks.
