My son Devin, who is a foodie in his own right helped me come up with this recipe to make spinach more appetizing. I hope you enjoy it as much as he does. It reheats well in the toaster oven the next day. In my house it never goes to waste!!

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp
    butter
  • 2 pkg
    10 ounces chopped frozen spinach
  • 1 c
    mild cheddar grated
  • 1 c
    sharp cheddar grated
  • 1
    chopped sweet onion
  • 2
    sheets frozen puff pastry

How to Make My 10 yr Olds Spinach

Step-by-Step

  1. Defrost and drain frozen spinach
  2. Defrost frozen puff pastry sheets
  3. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  4. In a large fry pan add butter and chopped onion and saute until slightly soft oven medium heat
  5. add spinach and continue to saute about 10 minutes
  6. Roll out puff pastry just to get the creases out and make it smooth
  7. Pour the spinach mixture into a bowl, add cheese, and mix
  8. Put one sheet of puff pastry dough onto a large cookie sheet and put spinach mixture on top.
  9. Top with other puff pastry sheet and roll or pinch to seal.
  10. Either put some small slices in it or poke it with a fork to let the steam escape.
  11. Bake at 375 degrees for about 30 minutes or until top is nice and brown. Serve and enjoy.
