my 10 yr olds spinach

My son Devin, who is a foodie in his own right helped me come up with this recipe to make spinach more appetizing. I hope you enjoy it as much as he does. It reheats well in the toaster oven the next day. In my house it never goes to waste!!

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 packages 10 ounces chopped frozen spinach
  • 1 cup mild cheddar grated
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar grated
  • 1 - chopped sweet onion
  • 2 - sheets frozen puff pastry

How To Make my 10 yr olds spinach

  • Step 1
    Defrost and drain frozen spinach
  • Step 2
    Defrost frozen puff pastry sheets
  • Step 3
    Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  • Step 4
    In a large fry pan add butter and chopped onion and saute until slightly soft oven medium heat
  • Step 5
    add spinach and continue to saute about 10 minutes
  • Step 6
    Roll out puff pastry just to get the creases out and make it smooth
  • Step 7
    Pour the spinach mixture into a bowl, add cheese, and mix
  • Step 8
    Put one sheet of puff pastry dough onto a large cookie sheet and put spinach mixture on top.
  • Step 9
    Top with other puff pastry sheet and roll or pinch to seal.
  • Step 10
    Either put some small slices in it or poke it with a fork to let the steam escape.
  • Step 11
    Bake at 375 degrees for about 30 minutes or until top is nice and brown. Serve and enjoy.
