Whenever the holidays roll around, I know it's time to make this delectable dish. Everyone wants to know...."You're going to make *that* onion casserole again, aren't you?"

    4 large white bermuda or vidalia onions

    4 tbsp. butter
  • ·
    1/4 cup flour
  • ·
    4 to 6 cups heavy cream
  • ·
    1 cup prepacked stuffing crumbs

How to Make Most Asked for Onion Casserole (The Title Says it


  1. Peel and thinly slice onions; in 2 1/2 quart deep casserole, layer onions, seasoning each layer with salt, pepper and paprika. dot each layer with butter and sprinkle with flour. Pour heavy cream over casserole until it comes to 1/2 inch from top and covers the top layer completely. Cover and bake 4 to 5 hours (that's right, hours). Half an hour before serving, remove cover; pour stuffing evenly over top layer and bake 30 minute more. Serve at once. Oven temperature: 325 Time: 4 to 5 hours
