memphis mixed greens

On special occasions at work, we would ask Julia , who helped us keep everything cleaned up at the Salon, to cook us these greens. They we wonderful! So when I was movng to Nashville,I ask Julia if she would tell me how she cook them. My sons love them, infact my older son said he will not eat anybody else's.

Ingredients
- 1 large ham bone (with some meat left )
- 2 bunches turnips greens
- 2 bunches kale
- 2 bunches collards
- 2 bunches mustard greens
- 4 cloves garlic
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons hot sauce ( or to your taste)
- - salt and pepper to your taste
How To Make memphis mixed greens

Step 1In a large pot, add the ham bone , add enough water to cover about half of the bone. Bring to a full rolling boil. Add greens , when they are ccoked down, add the garlic,sugar,hot sauce, salt and pepper. cook on low for 4 hrs. serve with onions and cornbread--yum!
