These are so tasty, the can be eaten alone as an appetizer or served with a steak, or top a baked potato with them and add some cheese for a real treat. Just as with my Mozzarella balls you can add or leave out any spice you want. The choice is your :-)

Ingredients

  • 1 pound mushrooms, washed and stems removed
  • 5 tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced onion or shallot's
  • 2 tablespoons oregano or italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons thyme, dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

How To Make marinated mushrooms

  • Step 1
    washed mushrooms and remove stems, Boil for 10 minutes in a pot of salted water (approx 1 tsp salt)
  • Step 2
    drain and cool mushrooms
  • Step 3
    combine the rest of the ingredients and mix well
  • Step 4
    Pour over Mushrooms toss lightly& cover or use a large zip lock bag Refrigerate several hours.
  • Step 5
    These are good cold or warmed up. they go well with a steak as a side or over the top.
