These are so tasty, the can be eaten alone as an appetizer or served with a steak, or top a baked potato with them and add some cheese for a real treat.
Just as with my Mozzarella balls you can add or leave out any spice you want. The choice is your :-)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb
    mushrooms, washed and stems removed
  • 5 Tbsp
    olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1 Tbsp
    balsamic vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp
    minced garlic
  • 1 Tbsp
    minced onion or shallot's
  • 2 Tbsp
    oregano or italian seasoning
  • 2 Tbsp
    thyme, dried
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt

How to Make Marinated mushrooms

Step-by-Step

  1. washed mushrooms and remove stems,
    Boil for 10 minutes in a pot of salted water (approx 1 tsp salt)
  2. drain and cool mushrooms
  3. combine the rest of the ingredients and mix well
  4. Pour over Mushrooms toss lightly& cover or use a large zip lock bag
    Refrigerate several hours.
  5. These are good cold or warmed up. they go well with a steak as a side or over the top.
