This is a wonderful recipe I make during the holidays. It's an old recipe from Taste of Home magazine that makes for a very unusual and unexpected surprise on the holiday table! Everyone LOVES these!! Best served room temperature. (Not hot.) Photo by Taste of Home

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup - sugar
  • 2 tsp. - cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup - lemon juice, fresh or concentrate but fresh is better
  • 2 Tbl. - butter
  • 2 (15 oz.) - cans sliced beets, drained
  • 1 (11 oz.) - can mandarin oranges, drained

How To Make mandarin glazed beets

  • Step 1
    In a large saucepan, combine the sugar and cornstarch. Add lemon juice and butter. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Stir in beats; heat through. Gently stir in oranges; heat through.
