  • 4 medium
    yellow squash
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • ·
    flour
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • ·
    vegetable oil for frying

How to Make Mamma's Fried Squash

Step-by-Step

  1. Slice squash, then place in large ziplock bag. Pour flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder in bag, and shake it up to coat the squash.
  2. In frying pan, heat oil. Then put squash in pan and fry. Don't forget to shake off excess flour.
  3. Fry til browned, then in the last few minutes sprinkle sugar on squash, then cook a little while longer and drain on paper towel!
