Perfect for a picnic, potluck, or any night on your dinner table! If you like baked beans, you will love these. These are a 4th of July and summer staple in our house. I'm from the South, and these are so good with burgers and BBQ.

Ingredients

  • 3 cans pork and beans, drained (15 oz each)
  • 1/2 cup diced onion (optional)
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 pound bacon, chopped (about 1 cup)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons yellow mustard
  • 2 teaspoons liquid smoke flavoring (or to taste)
  • 1 whole peeled onion

How To Make libby's amazing baked beans

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Mix beans, diced onions, ketchup, diced bacon, and brown sugar.
  • Step 2
    Mix in liquid smoke and mustard.
  • Step 3
    Transfer the bean mixture to a 2 1/2 quart dish. Place the whole peeled onion in the center of the bean mixture.
  • Step 4
    Bake 1 1/2 hours in a 325-degree pre-heated oven.
