I adapted this recipe from one I tasted in a great bar-b-que place in San Antonio. It is always a big hit when I take it to pot-luck dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar (optional)
  • 2 - 16 oz. package frozen, whole kernel corn, thawed
  • 8 ounces cream cheese. cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk or cream
  • 1/2 cup green onions, chopped for garnish
  • - salt and pepper to taste

How To Make jeanne's creamed corn

  • Step 1
    Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium low heat.
  • Step 2
    Add sugar and stir until dissolved.
  • Step 3
    Add corn and heat thoroughly, stirring occasionally
  • Step 4
    Stir in cream cheese and milk; stir until melted and well blended.
  • Step 5
    Salt and pepper to taste.
  • Step 6
    Place in a serving dish and sprinkle with green onions for garnish.
