This fabulous corn side dish comes from my co-worker at the Indianapolis Star, Jaquis Williams. She says her grandfather taught her to make it. Now, the ingredients may sound a little strange, but I assure you it is awesome!

Ingredients

2 can(s)
(14 oz. ea.) whole kernel sweet corn, drained thoroughly
1 pkg
(8 oz.) softened cream cheese (store brand works best)
1/2 stick
(4 tbsp.) butter
1/2 c
maple syrup
1/2 tsp
black pepper

How to Make JAQUIS' CANDY CORN

Step-by-Step

  • 1In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and cream cheese. Stir until creamy. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Cook over medium heat until heated through. Do not boil.
  • 2Place corn mixture into a serving dish and serve while hot.
  • 3NOTE: Recipe may be doubled (or even tripled) for a crowd
