jaquis' candy corn

This fabulous corn side dish comes from my co-worker at the Indianapolis Star, Jaquis Williams. She says her grandfather taught her to make it. Now, the ingredients may sound a little strange, but I assure you it is awesome!

Ingredients For jaquis' candy corn

  • 2 can
    (14 oz. ea.) whole kernel sweet corn, drained thoroughly
  • 1 pkg
    (8 oz.) softened cream cheese (store brand works best)
  • 1/2 stick
    (4 tbsp.) butter
  • 1/2 c
    maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp
    black pepper

How To Make jaquis' candy corn

  • 1
    In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and cream cheese. Stir until creamy. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Cook over medium heat until heated through. Do not boil.

    Place corn mixture into a serving dish and serve while hot.

    NOTE: Recipe may be doubled (or even tripled) for a crowd
