jaquis' candy corn
This fabulous corn side dish comes from my co-worker at the Indianapolis Star, Jaquis Williams. She says her grandfather taught her to make it. Now, the ingredients may sound a little strange, but I assure you it is awesome!

Ingredients
- 2 cans (14 oz. ea.) whole kernel sweet corn, drained thoroughly
- 1 package (8 oz.) softened cream cheese (store brand works best)
- 1/2 stick (4 tbsp.) butter
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
How To Make jaquis' candy corn

Step 1In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and cream cheese. Stir until creamy. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Cook over medium heat until heated through. Do not boil.

Step 2Place corn mixture into a serving dish and serve while hot.

Step 3NOTE: Recipe may be doubled (or even tripled) for a crowd
