italian green beans and tomatoes

I use frozen green beans (the ones you steam in your microwave for 5 minutes) I also use 2 envelopes of Splenda instead of the 2 tablespoons of regular sugar. Hope you enjoy this.

Ingredients For italian green beans and tomatoes

  • 2-2 1/2 lb
    green beans (or see note)
  • 1/2 c
    olive oil
  • 1 can
    italian plum tomatoes (2 pounds 3 oz)
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar (or see note)
  • 2 clove
    garlic - smashed (or more to taste)
  • 1-2 Tbsp
    oregano, dried

How To Make italian green beans and tomatoes

    Wash beans and snap off ends. Cook beans until tender in boiling salted water. Drain and set aside (or see note). Place all ingredients, except beans, in a large skillet. Bring quickly to a boil and allow to simmer for 30 minutes, stirring from time to time. Remove garlic. Add beans and blend well.
