I use frozen green beans (the ones you steam in your microwave for 5 minutes) I also use 2 envelopes of Splenda instead of the 2 tablespoons of regular sugar. Hope you enjoy this.

Ingredients

  • 2-2 1/2 lb
    green beans (or see note)
  • 1/2 c
    olive oil
  • 1 can(s)
    italian plum tomatoes (2 pounds 3 oz)
  • 1 Tbsp
    salt
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar (or see note)
  • 2 clove
    garlic - smashed (or more to taste)
  • 1-2 Tbsp
    oregano, dried

How to Make Italian Green Beans and Tomatoes

Step-by-Step

  1. Wash beans and snap off ends. Cook beans until tender in boiling salted water. Drain and set aside (or see note). Place all ingredients, except beans, in a large skillet. Bring quickly to a boil and allow to simmer for 30 minutes, stirring from time to time. Remove garlic. Add beans and blend well.
