Ingredients
- 1 can kidney beans (16 oz. can), drained
- 1 can green beans (16 oz. can), drained
- 1 can lima beans (16 oz. can), drained
- 1 can wax beans (16 oz. can), drained
- 1 can garbanzo beans (16 oz. can), drained
- 4 slices bacon, crumbled
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup vinegar
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons corn starch
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt (or to taste)
- 1 teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)
How To Make hot 5-bean salad

Step 1In a large skillet, cook 4-8 slices of bacon until crisp. Crumble bacon for later. Pour off all but 1/4 cup drippings.

Step 2Combine in skillet sugar, cornstarch, salt and pepper. Stir in vinegar and water. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.

Step 3Add all the beans to the skillet, stirring to mix.

Step 4Reduce heat and cover. Simmer 20 minutes.

Step 5Turn into a serving dish and top with bacon crumbles. Enjoy!
