Grow Your Own Celery

Tammie Gearhart

This is not my idea - I saw it on a DIY website , but don't recall which one it was! I was skeptical that this would work, but so far, so good! If nothing else, I'm enjoying watching it grow!

How to Make Grow Your Own Celery

  • 1This is so easy!!
Cut the bottom of the stalk off.
  • 2I score my bottom with a knife, although I don't know if it is necessary.
  • 3In a small clay pot, place a "basket" coffee filter. This keeps the dirt in the pot.
  • 4Fill pot with dirt and place celery stalk in the pot.
  • 5Water and place in a sunny window. Keep the soil damp - I usually put the water in the drip tray and let the plant "drink" what it needs. I check the drip tray daily and add water as necessary
  • 6Mine looked like this in 7 days.
