Grow Your Own Celery

Tammie Gearhart

This is not my idea - I saw it on a DIY website , but don't recall which one it was! I was skeptical that this would work, but so far, so good! If nothing else, I'm enjoying watching it grow!

How to Make Grow Your Own Celery

  1. This is so easy!!
Cut the bottom of the stalk off.
  2. I score my bottom with a knife, although I don't know if it is necessary.
  3. In a small clay pot, place a "basket" coffee filter. This keeps the dirt in the pot.
  4. Fill pot with dirt and place celery stalk in the pot.
  5. Water and place in a sunny window. Keep the soil damp - I usually put the water in the drip tray and let the plant "drink" what it needs. I check the drip tray daily and add water as necessary
  6. Mine looked like this in 7 days.
