green beans & rice

This is one of my grandma's recipes. I served it with grilled chicken the other day and it was a big hit at our house! Hope you enjoy, compliments of Granny!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh or frozen green beans
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cups hot cooked rice
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon dill weed
  • 1 dash salt
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice concentrate
  • 6 slices crisp cooked bacon, crumbled

How To Make green beans & rice

  • Step 1
    Steam or boil green beans until crisp tender.
  • Step 2
    Melt butter in a skillet, add onion and sauté until onion is wilted. Drain and combine with hot cooked rice.
  • Step 3
    Add cooked beans, salt and pepper to rice mixture. Keep warm.
  • Step 4
    In a small bowl blend sour cream, dill, salt, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce. Serve over beans and rice, sprinkle with crumbled bacon.
