- 1 tablespoon coarse sea salt
- 2 cups green beans, ends trimmed

Step 1In a pot of water, add coarse sea salt and bring it to a boil.

Step 2Add the prepared green beans and blanch for 3 to 5 minutes, depending on the thickness. If using as pickles, quickly blanch for 46 to 60 seconds.

Step 3Transfer immediately to an ice water bath to stop the cooking process and let them cool completely, about 5 minutes.

Step 4Drain green beans into a colander and proceed with your recipe.
