my son isn't a fan of green beans but loves arrabiata sauce. this is one of his favorites and gets him to eat his green beans. Arrabiate is a spicy tomato pasta sauce. This is a variation that is simple and delicious.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin
  • 3 cloves finely minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon red chili flakes (less if you have a sensitive pallet
  • 2 pints cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1 pound fresh green beans
  • - salt and pepper to taste

How To Make green beans arrabiata (angry green beans)

  • Step 1
    in a 2 quart sauce pan bring water and salt to a boil. add green beans and cook for approximately 10 minutes. the green beans should be firm to the touch still.
  • Step 2
    in a large pan over medium heat add olive oil. add garlic and chili flakes until fragrant, approximately one minute.
  • Step 3
    add tomatoes and cook until soft, 7 - 10 minutes. add green beans and season with salt and pepper. cover and cook on low heat for another 5 - 10 minutes. adjust seasonings to taste and serve.
