Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup Tabasco green jalapeño pepper sauce ®
  • 1 clove garlic, pressed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1 bag mixed salad greens (about 4-5 oz)
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

How To Make green bean salad

  • Step 1
Cut or snap beans into about 2-inch lengths, then cook in boiling salted water for about 10 minutes, or until crisp-tender. Drain and cool in a bowl with a cover.
  • Step 2
Meanwhile, combine olive oil, Tabasco sauce, garlic, and salt into a small bowl and mix well. Pour over beans and toss to coat. Cover and marinate at room temperature for about 1/2 hour.
  • Step 3
To serve, spoon beans over salad greens and top with crumbled bacon.
  • Step 4
Suggestions - Can use packaged real bacon crumbles instead of cooking your own. Use half the amount of Tabasco and add 2 tablespoons of vinegar or lemon juice instead if desired.
