I am allergic to mushrooms, so I have to alter this recipe a little bit. Instead of cream of mushroom soup, I use cream of potato. I add a step and heat it with cooked bacon.

Ingredients

  • 2 can(s)
    cream of potato soup
  • 6 slice
    thick cut bacon
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 2 tsp
    soy sauce
  • 8 c
    cooked green beans
  • 2 2/3 c
    french fried onions

How to Make Green Bean Casserole (No Mushrooms)

Step-by-Step

  1. Cook bacon in skillet until firm. Drain on paper towels, and crumble.
  2. Heat soup in a medium saucepan with bacon, adding milk gradually.
  3. Stir soup mixture, soy sauce, black pepper, beans and 1 1/3 cups onions in a 3-quart casserole.
  4. Bake at 350°F. for 25 minutes or until the bean mixture is hot and bubbling. Stir the bean mixture. Sprinkle with the remaining onions.
  5. Bake for 5 minutes or until the onions are golden brown
