green bean casserole (no mushrooms)

I am allergic to mushrooms, so I have to alter this recipe a little bit. Instead of cream of mushroom soup, I use cream of potato. I add a step and heat it with cooked bacon.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans cream of potato soup
  • 6 slices thick cut bacon
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 8 cups cooked green beans
  • 2 2/3 cups french fried onions

How To Make green bean casserole (no mushrooms)

  • Step 1
    Cook bacon in skillet until firm. Drain on paper towels, and crumble.
  • Step 2
    Heat soup in a medium saucepan with bacon, adding milk gradually.
  • Step 3
    Stir soup mixture, soy sauce, black pepper, beans and 1 1/3 cups onions in a 3-quart casserole.
  • Step 4
    Bake at 350°F. for 25 minutes or until the bean mixture is hot and bubbling. Stir the bean mixture. Sprinkle with the remaining onions.
  • Step 5
    Bake for 5 minutes or until the onions are golden brown
