These are awesome as a side dish. You don't have to use fresh green beans. Use 2 14.5 oz cans of canned green beans instead.

If you want a veggie everyone will love, you can't go wrong with these. Bacon wrapped anything is a hit! These are unique with their brown sugar, salt, and pepper flavor. The bacon drippings and brown sugar create their own sauce that the green beans cook in. Serve these and kids will definitely eat their veggies.

Ingredients
- 1 pound whole, fresh green beans
- 3-4 slices bacon, cut in thirds
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

When they come out of the oven, the bacon will be done but may not be as crisp as you'd like. To make the bacon crisp, pre-cook it until soft and has wrinkled edges. Then cut in half or thirds and wrap around the bundles. Slightly pre-cooking will begin the crisping process.

Step 1Preheat oven to 325F degrees.

Step 2Combine green beans and enough water to cover in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil. Boil for 3 minutes.

Step 3Drain.

Step 4Wrap 5 or 6 green beans with a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick.

Step 5Repeat procedure with remaining green beans and bacon.

Step 6Arrange bundles in a 13x9 baking dish.

Step 7Sprinkle with brown sugar, salt and black pepper.

Step 8Bake bundles until bacon is crisp about 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 9TIP: If you don't have fresh green beans use 2 - 14.5-ounce cans of canned green beans. Drain, rinse and drain one more time. Toss beans with 1 tbsp lemon juice for a taste of freshness before making recipe.
