This calls for fresh beans cooked.Only 2 cups so i think you will be fine with canned.Rinse the canned beans to rid of metal taste.

Ingredients For german sweet sour green or yellow beans

  • 1-2 can
    green or yellow beans(rinsed)
  • 1/2 c
    onion chopped3/4
  • 3/4 c
    water
  • 1/4 c
    vinegar
  • 4 slice
    bacon
  • 1 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • salt and pepper

How To Make german sweet sour green or yellow beans

    Brown the bacon remove and cut into 1/2 " pieces.Use the bacon grease to fry the onions 3-4mins..The add flour 1-2 tablespoons stiring to blend now add water,vinegar & sugar on med-low heat bring to a slow simmer.As this dressing will not be think as a gravy you may add more water.

    Add your beans to this mixture and toss serve with bacon on top.
