This is a nice side dish to any German entree, especially pork. It can be made in the crock pot, or on the stovetop.

Ingredients

  • 2 14-oz can(s)
    green beans, with liquid
  • 6 slice
    bacon, cooked, reserve drippings
  • ·
    bacon drippings, optional
  • 6 Tbsp
    vinegar
  • 6 Tbsp
    brown sugar

How to Make German-Style Green Beans

Step-by-Step

  1. Place all ingredients in a small crock pot including some of the bacon drippings (optional).
  2. Cook on low 6-8 hours.
  3. The longer the beans cook, the more flavorful they are.
  4. This recipe can easily be doubled.
