Fried Squash with Cheese
You could also make this for an appetizer.
I will post a picture as soon as I make them again.
- 1 - 2 large
- squash or zucchini
- 1 c
- 3-6 slice
- cheese, your choice (american, cheddar, etc.)
- salt & pepper, to taste
- 1 c
- or just enough oil, of your choice, to cover bottom of a skillet
How to Make Fried Squash with Cheese
- 1Cut your squash or zucchini into approximately 1/4 to 1/2 in. thick slices. I like to put them into a bowl of cold water before flouring them. You can either just flour the slices, or if you prefer more breading, you can dip it in a mixture of egg and milk before flouring. Season to taste when you put them in a skillet. Fry in a skillet for just a couple of minutes, or to however done you prefer. Turn over, place cheese to fit the slice and fry for a couple more minutes. Allow the cheese to melt on top. I always place on a paper towel covered plate to drain excess oil.
