This is the way that I fry most fresh vegetables to include green beans, zucchini, cucumbers, etc. Even my kids that do not eat squash will eat these.

Ingredients
- 6 - yellow squash
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup corn meal
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
How To Make fried squash

Step 1Wash the squash and slice them into 1/4 inch slices. Cover with ice water for 30 minutes.

Step 2Drain. Pour buttermilk over squash and soak for 30 minutes.

Step 3Combine meal, flour, and salt in another bowl.

Step 4Add squash slices a few at a time until coated.

Step 5Fry squash in hot grease, one layer at a time, until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Serve immediately.
