How to Make Fried Squash
- Wash the squash and slice them into 1/4 inch slices. Cover with ice water for 30 minutes.
- Drain. Pour buttermilk over squash and soak for 30 minutes.
- Combine meal, flour, and salt in another bowl.
- Add squash slices a few at a time until coated.
- Fry squash in hot grease, one layer at a time, until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Serve immediately.
