We love fried okra and they are very crunchy and crispy. They are so delicious and tasty.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb
    young okra
  • 1/2 c
    cornmeal
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • ·
    pepper to taste
  • ·
    dash cayenne pepper

How to Make Fried Okra

Step-by-Step

  1. Cut off the stems and the tips of the okra pods. Wash thoroughly and place them in a pan of boiling salted water. Cook for about 8 minutes. Drain and let dry thoroughly.
  2. In a mixing bowl blend the cornmeal with the salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper. Roll the okra in the seasoned cornmeal. Fry in deep fat (350F) or saute in butter until brown.
