How to Make Nonna Rosa's Fried Morels in Cornmeal
- Heat cooking oil in skillet over medium heat until pinch of flour sizzles.
Make sure morels are clean and split in half lengthwise.
Reserve in cold water.
- Mix cornmeal, sugar, salt and pepper together in large bowl.
Carefully bread each mushroom half (like breading chicken)
- Fry in small batches. About 6 mushrooms per serving. Can be held on tray in warm oven until all are fried.
