fried green tomatoes

I am publishing my first recipe. This is one of Hubby's favorites. You can substitute 1/2 cup of buttermilk in place the egg and milk.

Ingredients

  • 1 - egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup zatarain's seasoned fish-fri
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 4 - medium sized green tomatoes cut into 1/4inch slices
  • - enough cooking oil to cover the bottom of your skillet
  • - remoulade dressing (optional)

How To Make fried green tomatoes

  • Step 1
    Mix egg and milk; Set aside.
  • Step 2
    Combine Zatarain's and flour.
  • Step 3
    Dip tomatoes in egg mixture; dredge in dry mixture.
  • Step 4
    Heat cooking oil in skillet over medium heat or in electric frying pan at 350 degrees.
  • Step 5
    Arrange slices in single layer in skillet, and cook until golden brown on both sides. Serve hot.
  • Step 6
    I love to serve with remoulade dressing on the side to dip in.
