Learned to make this at the little country cookin' diner in my town.

Ingredients

  • 1 - head cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1 - onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 or 4 slices bacon or bacon drippings

How To Make fried cabbage

  • Step 1
    If you don't already have some bacon drippings in your fridge, you can render down four of five slices of bacon then remove bacon from pan.
  • Step 2
    Add cabbage, onion, and salt and pepper and cook over med-high heat until cabbage is tender to your preference. I like to cook mine on a little higher heat until it carmelizes a little. Delicious!
  • Step 3
    You can crumble the bacon that you have left on top when it is done.
