Ingredients
- 3-4 pounds fresh green beans, wash, tips off and break in half
- 1 large onion chopped
- 3-4 - pieces of turkey or pork bacon cooked crispy
- 3 cloves fresh garlic chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- - salt and pepper to taste
- 3+ tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin
- 1-2 package herb ox sodium free granulated chicken bouillon
- 1-2 cup chicken broth/stock
How To Make fresh green beans
-
Step 1I clean the beans in vinegar and rinse off with water. Break off tips and break in half if the beans are long. Set aside.
-
Step 2Cook the bacon until crispy, but not overdone. You can also use cooked ham for this recipe by browning the ham in a little olive oil.
-
Step 3In a large pot, cook onion in 2 tablespoons of olive oil for a few minutes, add the fresh garlic and continue cooking until tender. Add the 2 packages of Herb Ox chicken bouillon to the onions and garlic and stir well. Add about 2 cups of the chicken broth/stock to the onions. Once it comes to a boil, add your green beans, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper, turn heat down to medium.
-
Step 4Let the beans cook about half an hour and stir a few times, then add your meat by crumbling the bacon pieces or the chopped ham, stirring a few times during cooking. Add a drizzle of olive oil and cook until tender.
